Creatine in Athletic Performance: Scientific Evidence and Mechanisms of Action
Abstract
Creatine is a key supplement for overcoming the biochemical limit of muscle fatigue during high-intensity exercise. Through the phosphagen system and creatine kinase, it facilitates the immediate resynthesis of ATP, the muscle's vital energy source. By maximizing phosphocreatine stores, it increases strength, power, and muscle volume, accelerating recovery and reducing fatigue.
