Entrenamiento resistido de alta velocidad y movilidad en personas mayores. Una revisión sistemática

Resumen

Esta revisión sistemática tuvo como objetivo evaluar la efectividad del entrenamiento resistido de alta velocidad para mejorar la movilidad de las personas mayores con limitaciones de movimiento. Inicialmente se identificaron 1667 artículos en las bases de datos Pubmed, Web of Science, Scopus, Embase y Lilacs, de los cuales 1489 fueron analizados y 6 seleccionados para el estudio, con una muestra de 374 personas mayores (118 hombres y 256 mujeres), con edades entre 65 y 94 años. El Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB) fue el instrumento más utilizado para evaluar la movilidad (83,3%). Todos los estudios demostraron mejoras en la movilidad y/o la potencia muscular de las extremidades inferiores. La calidad metodológica osciló entre 12 y 13 puntos en la escala Testex (máximo 15). Se concluye que el entrenamiento de resistencia a alta velocidad es eficaz para mejorar la movilidad de personas mayores con limitaciones de movimiento.
