Burnout syndrome and level of physical activity between Physical Education teachers
Abstract
The syndrome of burnout or burnout syndrome is a psychosocial phenomenon caused by chronic job stress. Thus, teachers have been constant targets of stress due to the functions exercised by the profession and the service environment, and are directly connected with the students for long periods. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between burnout and level of physical activity syndrome in physical education teachers in basic education Siqueira Campos-PR. This is a correlational study, which investigated 14 teachers, who for had observed the presence of Burnout syndrome was used questionnaire Maslach Inventory Burnout (MIB) and International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) in its short version to assess the level of physical activity . Data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 program and was used Fisher's exact test. Among the sample classified as irregularly active, 7 between 8 teachers are indicative to acquire Syndrome, already classified as active or very active, only 2 out of a total of 6 teachers are indicative for burnout Given the results obtained can be considered less active person is more likely to acquire the burnout syndrome.
