Relação entre intensidade do exercício físico e melhoria cognitiva em adultos com transtornos do neurodesenvolvimento
Uma revisão integrativa
Resumo
Introdução: Transtornos do neurodesenvolvimento, afetam funções cognitivas essenciais, impactando a qualidade de vida dos indivíduos. Como é visto no Transtorno do Déficit de Atenção com Hiperatividade (TDAH). O exercício físico tem sido destacado como uma intervenção não farmacológica eficaz na melhoria das funções cognitivas, especialmente nas funções executivas. Objetivo: Este estudo tem como objetivo investigar a relação entre a intensidade do treinamento físico e as melhorias cognitivas em adultos com transtornos do neurodesenvolvimento. Metodologia: Foi realizada uma revisão integrativa da literatura nas bases de dados PubMed, Scopus, e Web of Science, que incluíram estudos publicados entre 2010 e 2023, e que avaliaram a intensidade do treinamento físico e seus efeitos na cognição de adultos com transtornos do neurodesenvolvimento. Resultados: Os estudos revisados demonstraram que a intensidade do exercício físico influencia significativamente as funções executivas em adultos com transtornos do neurodesenvolvimento. Treinamentos de intensidade moderada a alta mostraram maior eficácia na melhoria das funções cognitivas, em comparação com exercícios de baixa intensidade. Conclusão: O treinamento físico, especialmente em intensidades moderadas a altas, pode ser uma intervenção eficaz para melhorar as funções cognitivas em adultos com transtornos do neurodesenvolvimento. No entanto, há necessidade de mais pesquisas para definir a intensidade ideal e entender melhor os mecanismos subjacentes.
