Principles of Ethics and Declaration on Negligence
"Lecturas: Educación Física y Deportes" is a publication committed to appropriate ethical practices in the editorial task. To publish in this journal it is necessary that the authors take into account the following legislation:
- Good Practice Guidelines for Publications, prepared by the Publications Ethics Committee (COPE);
- Helsinki Declaration of the 2013 World Medical Association;
- The UNICEF Convention on the Rights of the Child;
- The 2006 United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
In particular for texts written by Brazilian authors, the following standards are recommended:
In essence, works that violate any of the rights stated in these documents are not published.
The Editor:
- Works continually to improve the scientific quality of the journal and publish the content of each issue within the established period of time.
- Should be willing to post corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary.
- Will make the decision to accept or reject a paper for publication based solely on the importance of the article, originality, clarity and relevance that it represents for the magazine. Must have no conflict of interest with the accepted or rejected article.
- Will abide by the rules and resources at their disposal to combat copyright infringement and plagiarism.
- Will commit to guarantee the confidentiality of the evaluation process, will not reveal to the judges the identity of the authors, nor will reveal the identity of the judges at any time.
- Will assume the responsibility of duly informing the author of the phase of the editorial process in which the senttext is, as well as the resolutions of the dictum.
- Will evaluate the manuscripts and their intellectual content without distinction of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or the political philosophy of the authors.
- Will not disclose any information about a manuscript submitted to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, or other editorial advisers.
- Will not use the unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for personal research, without the written consent of the author. Insider information or ideas obtained through peer review will be confidential and will not be used for personal benefits.
- Will make reasonable and impartial decisions and ensure a fair and fair double blind peer review process.
- Will use the resources at their disposal to ensure the accessibility of the magazine content.
Editorial Board:
- Advises the Editor on improving the scientific quality of the journal and on complying with the editorial and ethical criteria to which the publication adheres.
- Will describe and define the peer review process so that the authors know the evaluation criteria. The Editorial Committee will always be willing to justify any controversy in the evaluation process.
The Peer Reviewer:
- Will maintain objective judgment when evaluating each item.
- Must have no conflict of interest with the research, the authors and / or the people who finance the research.
- Will take the reviewed articles as confidential.
- Will assist the editor in editorial decision making and could also assist in improving productionthrough editorial communications with the author.
- If they are selected and do not feel qualified to review a manuscript or know that their prompt review will be impossible, they should notify the editor and exempt from conducting the review process.
- Must make comments objectively. Must express their views clearly, with supporting arguments and a scientific-pedagogical approach.
- Will identify any relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any claim that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported must be accompanied by the appropriate citation.
- Commits to control the plagiarism and fraud of the data exposed in the investigations, as well as its rejection.
- Will report to the editor any conflict of interest, plagiarism and / or fraudulent data that they identify in their review activity.
The Author:
- By submitting theirproduction,they will acknowledge having knowledge of the magazine's explicit editorial policy.
- To be considered an author, they claim to have participated in the choice of title, data collection and analysis and to know the full content of the manuscript.
- Authors must guarantee that their manuscripts are the product of their original work and that the data has been ethically obtained. They must send for approval by the Research Ethics Committee, if applicable to the topic and content. Furthermore, they must guarantee that their works have not been previously published or that they are not being considered in another publication. A work will be considered as previously published when any of the following situations occurs:
- When the full text has been published.
- When extensive fragments of previously published materials are part of the text sent to the Magazine.
- When the work submitted to the Journal is contained in memoirs published in full.
- These criteria refer to previous publications in any format, and in any language.
- Will make the corrections suggested by the blind pair, in a maximum of three weeks.
- Having contributed significantly to the investigation.
- Will declare in writing the authenticity of the data.
- They will declare that there is no conflict of interest between the authors, nor with any financial institution. In the case of having received funding for their research, they must clearly indicate the source, as well as any other commitment that may influence on the results.
- Will always give proper recognition of the work of others. They should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the work reported.
- If the work involves chemicals, procedures, or equipment that have any unusual hazards inherent in their use, the author should clearly identify these in the manuscript.
- When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his own published work, it is the author's obligation to immediately notify the editor of the journal or publisher and cooperate with the editor to correct the manuscript.
