Abstract

Nutrition in elite soccer is a periodized and personalized system that maximizes physiological performance and recovery. Far from fad diets, players consume between 3,500 and 4,500 calories daily, dynamically adapting their macronutrient intake. Strategies such as pre-match carbohydrate loading, halftime supplementation, and immediate post-match recovery ensure muscle energy and prevent injuries. These scientific principles are applicable to daily life by adjusting portion sizes.
