Abstract

Facebook is one of the largest digital communication networks in the world. It has become an area of study due to changes since its inception. It was created to be a channel for dialogue among university students, yet it crossed borders and emerged into communicational capitalism. Thus, the present study aims to analyze the images published by four schools of Campinas / SP in the social network Facebook®. This is a qualitative research of the descriptive type of netnographic model. He used for his analysis profiles on Facebook of public and private schools in Campinas / SP and his students. The instrument used was an adaptation of the "Analysis protocol used for the categorization of images" of De Oliveira (2016). As results, we obtained a total of 2139 photos analyzed, being 1985 (92.8%) posted by the school, 99 (46%) published by third parties and 55 (2.6%) reported by students. It was identified a difference of contents in the images posted by the students and the schools in Facebook® in the school environment, as well as the purpose of the publications of the schools, since the publications of the private schools are associated with its publicity and propaganda, therefore, the purpose of the publication of such schools is linked to issues of economic scope.
