Unseen Heroes: Mental Health Champions in Professional Sports

Abstract

Professional sports have traditionally been a place where physical prowess and victory are celebrated. However, athletes like Michael Phelps, Kevin Love, and Simone Biles are changing this narrative by speaking openly about their struggles with mental health. This shift has led to greater awareness and acceptance of psychological issues in sports, with organizations and media outlets adapting to support athletes' mental well-being. The courage of these athletes is redefining athletic excellence, proving that mental toughness is just as important as physical toughness.
