Profile of Swimming Teachers and Coordinators of the Municipalities of Jaragua do Sul and Joinville

Abstract

Due to the fact that swimmers seek results, teachers need to be prepared and trained to achieve the individual results of each student. The present study had as objective to know the profile of the teachers and coordinators who are active in the area of ​​swimming in the academies / schools of the municipalities of Jaraguá do Sul and Joinville and aspects of their academic formation. It was a descriptive field study, whose instrument used was a questionnaire with closed questions about academic formation, courses carried out, evaluative criteria used for definition of levels, use of bibliography, among others. The study was attended by 9 coordinators and 37 teachers who work in swimming academies / schools in the cities of Jaraguá do Sul and Joinville. Data were analyzed using simple descriptive statistics (frequency and percentage). The results indicate that the active coordinators are mostly Men (67%) and the active professionals are Women (65%). It was also noted the commitment to continuing education, where 70% mentioned having participated in some complementary course, with emphasis on Swimming (12).It is concluded that knowing the profile of teachers and coordinators is important for a better understanding of their academic training and function practices, as is the case of academic assistants without understanding the practice of swimming lessons, besides assistants as trainers to organize your curricula for quality training.
