Soccer, Economy and Politics in Qatar 2022

Abstract

There is global interest in the XXII FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2022, from every point of view. In the economic aspect, football is the sport that generates the most income. As for sports, the surprises in the first results stand out with the defeats of the teams from Argentina and Germany against Saudi Arabia and Japan. Regarding the political aspects, homophobia and the absence of basic rights are made visible in the organizing country of migrant workers and women.
