Analysis of plantar footprint under the HERZCO method
Abstract
This article suggests and discusses elementary classical procedures for the analysis of static fingerprints, very useful in academic scenarios with low affordability to the state of the art technology that characterizes modern laboratories. First, a description of the HERZCO criterion (Hernández Corvo, 1991) is presented with a technical adjustment that considers the continuity of the intervals for the evaluation of the static traces and geometric aspects for the interpretation of the triangular support according to the type of footprint. To complement the typological determination of the foot, the digital and metatarsal formulas are described and a simple format is suggested for the recording and operationalization of the magnitudes evaluated. The objective of this article is to explain the importance of physical-mathematical tools for the typological analysis of the foot based on classic methodologies, characterized by their sensitivity and low cost, and to promote their use by students and practitioners of the biomedical areas of the programs related to physical activity and sports, in different academic, sports and work scenarios.
