Health Test. Evaluation of application in teenagers between 15 and 16 years old
Abstract
This study presents a work carried out by the students of the International Pre-Baccalaureate (PRE-BI) of the Liceo Naval Educational Unit of Guayaquil during the academic period 2018-2019, where the main source of discussion are the statistical results of the health tests applied to 30 students between the ages of 15 and 16 belonging to the Bravo parallel high school of the morning session in the subject of Physical Education and specifically in block Nº 6 called "Relation of body practices and health"; which describes the National Physical Education Curriculum of Ecuador (2016). The objective of this study is to analyze the physical aptitude of the students by means of the health tests in the capacities of resistance, force and speed. Therefore, the methodological design is mixed because there are quantitative data in the results of the pedagogical tests analyzed by the descriptive statistics and in the qualitative it is of basic-theoretical type where methods of documentary analysis, analysis-synthesis or inductive-deductive are used that give fulfillment of the proposed objectives. On the other hand, the results expressed in the 5 aptitude tests in comparison to the international ones show that 4 of them can be applied whose advantages are that the majority of students can participate and the disadvantage is the fixed bar test that is not adequate in the female population and it is recommended to modify it or to apply another test more adequate to the possibilities of the group. As a conclusion, a discussion was proposed of empirical and theoretical arguments based on aptitude tests with international standards that were able to determine their advantages and disadvantages for their application in the education sector.
