Strategy to improve reception and libero dig in ESPOL selection

Abstract

Introduction: The libero, a highly specialized volleyball player, requires training strategies that prioritize the specialization and specificity principles to enhance his technical-tactical performance, being the training of reception and dig essential components to effectiveness increase. Objective: To implement various specialized physical exercises to enhance the reception and dig of libero players of Club de Voleibol de la Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL). Methods: The research is of transectional type, descriptive non experimental and correlative, studying of líberos players population in university mentioned (2 subjects). 656 receptions are studied (Player 1: 345 actions, player 2: 311 actions), and 255 dig to Spikers (Player 1: 122 actions, Player 2: 133 actions), investigating the effectiveness and final performance quality and other interest variables. On the other hand, 20 volleyball trainers from of Guayaquil and Quito provinces will be surveyed, with a protocol designed by the author, evaluating four variables (Quality, Originality, Specificity and Objectivity). Results: The technical variant most used by Líberos in the reception was the "Low Hands" (87,19%), as in dig (95,08%), being the zone 6 where the technique is mostly performed of reception (30.64%). As part of the posttest, there was an average increase in reception effectiveness for both liberos (Player Effectiveness 1: 13.27%, and Player 2: 13.64%), and technical-tactical quality of the actions registered (Player 1: 49.34%; Player 2: 46.72%). In the dig there was also a positive increase in both players as part of the posttest, both in effectiveness (Player 1: -2.24%, Player 2: -5.60), and in technical-tactical quality (Player 1: 46, 42%, player 2: 42.40%). The concordance issued level by specialists on implemented proposal was favorable, both in pretest (0,466) and posttest (0,591). Conclusions: The effectiveness and the technical-tactical quality in dig and reception of Libero player was increased.
