Children's swimming teacher acquaintance: improving pedagogical theoretical knowledge

Abstract

The objective of this theoretical essay was to interpret the pedagogical knowledge of Shulman content applied to the child swimming teacher, trying to highlight the implications in intervention, training and in research. Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) stands out from the other categories and suggests that PCK is the most likely category to distinguish between the knowledge of an expert and a median teacher in a given area. It can be concluded that the knowledge of the teacher of child swimming goes much beyond the contents developed in higher education, since in most of the institutions, only the adaptation to the net environment and the teaching and learning processes of the four competitive swimming.
