Evaluación de la salud bucal de jugadores profesionales de fútbol. Índice CPOD e índice de placa
Resumen
La intervención de una excelente atención odontológica para futbolistas de alto rendimiento es una tarea desafiante ante numerosas competencias que impiden una adecuada planificación en las decisiones médicas. El artículo tiene como objetivo general evaluar la salud bucal de jugadores profesionales de fútbol a través del Índice CPO-D y el Índice de Placa, delimitado a 3 (tres) clubes de la ciudad de Campos dos Goytacazes que están afiliados a la Federación de Fútbol de Río de Janeiro (FERJ). La investigación se llevó a cabo a través de una evaluación clínica con deportistas profesionales de fútbol. Se concluyó en este trabajo que la salud bucal de los deportistas es ineficiente debido a los datos obtenidos en la investigación, presentando un CPO-D promedio de 4,77 (moderado) y un índice de placa de un promedio de 28,92 (insatisfactorio).
