Memoria a través de Ejercicio Físico (MEF)

Fundamentos y propuestas para el contexto escolar y familiar

Resumen

Los avances en neurociencia demuestran el impacto del ejercicio físico (EF) practicado con regularidad sobre la anatomía y fisiología del sistema neurológico. Los estudios evidencian un crecimiento hipocampal y un mayor rendimiento en la memoria mediante la práctica habitual de EF. El objetivo de este trabajo divulgativo es promover la reflexión y conocimiento sobre un hábito, el de la práctica de actividad física, que puede impulsar el bienestar cognitivo general, y la memoria en particular de niñas y niñas. Pretende poner de relieve una temática con alto interés para las intervenciones terapéuticas y educativas; así como favorecer la reflexión y el debate en torno al mismo. Se contribuye con orientaciones para potenciar la memoria a través de ejercicio físico y se incorporan recomendaciones prácticas para su puesta en marcha tanto en el aula como en el hogar. Las aportaciones ofrecidas son una herramienta valiosa para el profesorado y las familias en sus labores de promoción del bienestar infantil.
