Why Liga de Expansión MX Deserves More Attention in 2026
Abstract
Liga de Expansión MX faces a crucial crossroads in Mexican soccer in 2026. With the addition of new clubs and a competitive tournament like the Apertura 2026, the league fosters young talent and generates local passion. However, it faces the controversy of the ban on sporting promotion to the First Division, reactivated through administrative purchases. This strains the development of projects within a system that prioritizes financial stability over sporting merit.
