Selection of talents for sports of combat in the Educational Units of Sport Talent Venezuelan

Abstract

The combat sports are considered a priority for the sports development of Venezuela, it happens that their selection of talents for the entrance to the Educational Units of Sports Talents lacks the necessary topicality and scientific level, for which the student-athlete selection does not possess the specific characteristics for these sports, declaring themselves as a problem to solve How to contribute to the improvement of the talent selection process in combat sports in the Venezuelan Sports Talent Education Units? As a general objective: Propose a model for the improvement of the process of selection of talents in combat sports to the Venezuelan Sports Talent Education Units. The main empirical methods used were observation, review of documents, survey and the criteria of specialists and users. Obtaining as results a feasible and applicable model, based on pedagogical, psychological, sociological and medical-biological criteria that will be evaluated with a comprehensive vision through a set of practical, special and field tests that should have a selective character, and divided into three stages: the measurement of the indicators, the comprehensive evaluation of the results, and the final selection of the athletes.
