Digital Entertainment and Athletes: The Impact of Online Leisure on Physical Performance
Abstract
Digital entertainment has become integrated into the routines of modern athletes, influencing their performance, recovery, and mental health. While activities such as video games and social media serve as tools for disconnecting and reducing cortisol levels, their excessive use presents risks. Exposure to blue light before sleep affects melatonin and muscle regeneration, while poor posture can lead to neck injuries. The key lies in moderation and time management, establishing rest protocols that allow athletes to enjoy digital leisure without compromising athletic ability or psychological well-being.
