Abstract

Mexico has been a frequent guest at the Copa America since 1993, standing out on several occasions but failing to win the title. It was runner-up in 1993 and 2001, and obtained third place in 1997, 1999 and 2007. It was eliminated in the group stage in 2011 and 2015. After not participating in the 2019 and 2021 editions, Mexico returns with a renewed team and hope to lift the trophy for the first time. It is a new opportunity for Mexico, which has experienced players and young talents; and will owe to outstanding teams such as Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.
