How Technology has Contributed to the Evolution of Soccer
Abstract
The use of different technologies was modifying the different sports, in particular soccer. Regarding the use of information and dissemination technologies, the 1930 World Cup had radio, newspapers and specialized magazines as the main means of communication. Over the years, black and white television emerged, initially broadcasting images that arrived delayed, then in color and with live transmissions. Technology is also revealed with the VAR (Video Assistant Referee) that has generated countless debates and controversies. At the same time, other technologies, such as air-conditioned stadiums, adapted uniforms and training systems, improve player performance and lead to exciting and highly competitive matches. Without a doubt, football will be a favorable environment for the application of new technologies in the coming years.
