Dolor, nivel de actividad física y comportamiento sedentario en estudiantes de fisioterapia

Resumen

Introducción: Los estudiantes universitarios están expuestos a una rutina hipocinética, estresante y con alto comportamiento sedentario (CS), lo que produce dolor. Objetivo: Analizar la ocurrencia de dolor y su relación con el nivel de actividad física (NAF) y CS en estudiantes de fisioterapia. Método: Estudio descriptivo, transversal y cuantitativo, con 64 estudiantes, de la Universidad Federal de Jataí, Brasil. La recolección de datos se realizó entre mayo/2021 y febrero/2022, utilizando un formulario electrónico que contiene información sociodemográfica, hábitos diarios, NAF, CS, ocurrencia e intensidad del dolor. Los datos fueron analizados mediante estadística descriptiva e inferencial, adoptando p<0,05. Resultados: Hubo predominio de mujeres (90,6%), de 18 a 27 años (93,8%), solteros (82,8%) y residentes con padres (54,6%). Todos los participantes relataron alguna localización del dolor, con media de 6,81±3,85 localizaciones, intensidad media del dolor de 1,50±0,38. Las regiones de la espalda baja (87,5%), cervical (73,4%) y espalda alta (71,9%) fueron los principales sitios de dolor. La mayoría de los estudiantes universitarios eran activos (59,4%) y tenían un tiempo sentado ≤400 minutos (73,4 %). Para el tiempo frente a la pantalla semanalmente, predominó el uso de teléfono móvil/videojuegos (57,8%) y computadora/similar (54,7%) por >4h. Al analizar la asociación de la localización e intensidad del dolor con las características sociodemográficas, hábitos, NAF y CS, no se observó significación (p>0,05). Conclusión: Se concluye que NAF y CS no se asociaron con dolor, sin embargo todos los universitarios presentaron al menos un sitio de dolor y las regiones más afectadas fueron la columna vertebral.
