Abstract

Measurements of objective variables in the context of sport psychology today is one of the most useful and effective practices. The registration of psychophysiological indicators out among one of them. The skin electrical conductance is peripheral psychophysiological measure that best expresses and most widely used to measure the activity of the autonomic nervous system. In this research evaluating skin electric conductance response it is used for a characterization of an athlete, by using a protocol comprising several stimulation conditions. The results show that significantly behaves differently at different times of the protocol, with values in the Wilcoxon ordered rank test of -26.8 p = 0.00. The highest values are those where the athlete says that the video content is presented, the aversive content produces a more intense response to the motivational content with a difference of 0.12 Siemens and significant values in the test by ordered rank of Wilcoxon of -26.8 p = 0.00. The relaxation time is the most variation in conductance has with a difference of 0.21 Siemens and significant values in the test by ordered rank of Wilcoxon of -24.8 p = 0.00. It is concluded that the study provides evidence for the theory on which it is based and the evaluation protocol meets the purposes for which it was conceived. It is recommended to use in psychology assessments that are made in the direction of medical services of the National Institute of Sports of Venezuela, previously established percentile values for the characterization of athletes.
