Challenges found in the organ donation process: experience report
Abstract
The donation of organs and tissues for transplantation is a topic of great importance in the health area. Objective: to describe the difficulties that exist in the process of organ harvesting and tissue transplantation and to discuss the challenges faced by the CIHDOTT team. Method: experience report, with descriptive qualitative character, during a non - compulsory curricular traineeship of daily life SUS, in a general public hospital in the interior of Bahia. Results: it is observed that in the donation process there are challenges and obstacles that impede the proper functioning of the service, such as: challenges in the hospital infrastructure, which is not suitable for the service, team challenges in relation to communication and process knowledge, Challenges related to relatives in refusing donation of organs and tissues. Conclusion: the experience of the stage allowed a greater approximation of the theme, making it possible to identify urgency in the improvement of the service.
