Judo in schools: the traditional method to transforming practice of the Physical Education content

Abstract

The practice of judo in schools should give as a pleasurable practice, transforming, based on pedagogical knowledge. The inclusion of children in sports competitions we are a concern, but if we have the practice of judo as a tool to contribute to the formation of the students competition should be a stage to be exercised within a period or age group. Characterized as a descriptive research with qualitative approach, where we use publications on pedagogy, teacher education and citizenship. The method used was literature review of some relevant publications by theme, comparing them with the reality of children from 7 to 10 years who participate in competitions. Aimed to point out the importance of the inclusion of judo in school physical education classes for a better social development and report on the benefits of judo, such as physical education, provides content to children. Hypothesis: the teaching of judo in schools with competitive purposes and that the prospect of the formation of the child is not privileged. Results: evidence that the sport of Judo has your educational value but it is up to the teacher rethink the issues of citizenship, playfulness, affection, freedom of expression and the pleasure. Final thoughts: the practice of Judo based on a transformative pedagogy ceases to be just a practice included in educational establishments to become a content and a means to achieve goals and changes in approaches to the formation of the student.
