Efectos del entrenamiento aeróbico sobre la leptina en personas obesas: una revisión integradora
Resumen
La obesidad está relacionada con la acumulación excesiva de grasa corporal y la resistencia a la leptina, una hormona que regula el apetito y el equilibrio energético. El entrenamiento aeróbico es una estrategia eficaz para combatir la obesidad, ya que puede mejorar la función de la leptina, ayudando a controlar el apetito y promover la pérdida de peso. Además, el ejercicio aeróbico aumenta los niveles de adiponectina, mejorando el metabolismo y el control del peso. Objetivo: Investigar los efectos del entrenamiento aeróbico sobre los niveles de leptina en individuos obesos. Metodología: Para ello se realizó una búsqueda avanzada en las bases de datos Pubmed, Scopus, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library y Lilacs. Resultados: Se encontraron 390 artículos, de los cuales 193 fueron excluidos por ser duplicados. Al final, se seleccionaron 10 por cumplir los criterios de elegibilidad. Los niveles séricos de leptina se redujeron en individuos obesos que practicaban entrenamiento aeróbico en 9 estudios (90%). Conclusión: El entrenamiento aeróbico promueve la reducción de los niveles de leptina en individuos obesos, asociando este efecto con la regulación del peso y la resistencia a la insulina. Además de perder grasa corporal, la duración y la intensidad del entrenamiento aeróbico son factores importantes. Se demostró que la combinación de ejercicio aeróbico con entrenamiento de resistencia e intervenciones dietéticas es más eficaz para disminuir la leptina que el ejercicio solo.
