Impacto del ejercicio físico en la aptitud física del adulto: una cohorte retrospectiva

Resumen

El objetivo del estudio fue analizar los impactos del ejercicio físico en la aptitud física relacionada con la salud. Este es un estudio de cohorte retrospectivo, cuantitativo, exploratorio, comparativo y longitudinal con un intervalo de 12 años. Se recopiló información de 198 personas inscritas en el gimnasio entre 2007 y 2009, y en 2019, 40 de estas personas, de entre 40 y 60 años, fueron entrevistadas y evaluadas nuevamente utilizando los mismos instrumentos de recopilación de datos utilizados anteriormente. Se recogieron variables antropométricas y de aptitud física. Los resultados mostraron que los individuos que continuaron haciendo ejercicio regularmente durante los últimos doce años, en comparación con aquellos que no se mantuvieron activos, están más en forma con respecto a la salud, aunque con significación estadística solo en las variables peso (p = 0.004), índice de masa cuerpo (p = 0.001); porcentaje de grasa (p = 0.039) y circunferencia de cintura (p = 0.006). Por lo tanto, se concluye que las personas que son físicamente activas durante períodos prolongados son más aptas para la salud y que el ejercicio regular tiene un impacto positivo en la aptitud física relacionada con la salud, lo que demuestra que esta práctica es una estrategia importante para la promoción de la salud.
