La influencia de la luz solar en la salud del adolescente

Resumen

Introducción: existe controversia con respecto a los riesgos y beneficios relacionados con la exposición a la luz solar. Objetivo: identificar en la literatura la influencia de la luz solar en la salud de los adolescentes. Método: se utilizaron las plataformas de investigación: PubMed Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde - BVS, con los descriptores “Salud del adolescente” AND “Luz Solar”. Se aplicaron los siguientes filtros: artículos completos disponibles, publicados de 2015 a 2019 en portugués, inglés y español, y adolescentes entre 10 y 19 años. Resultados: después de aplicar los filtros, se extrajeron 172 artículos, excluyendo aquellos que no respondieron a la pregunta guía en cuestión, no estuvieron disponibles ni se repitieron, dejando 14 referencias que se agruparon por áreas temáticas: conocimiento y comportamientos relacionados con la luz solar; papel de los padres en el conocimiento de los niños; evaluación del estado de la vitamina D; relación entre obesidad y falta de vitamina D; relación entre exposición a la luz solar y otras enfermedades. Conclusión: de este estudio se determina que la atención fotoprotectora es esencial para una exposición prolongada a la luz solar, especialmente durante las horas de 11 am a 3 pm en lugares tropicales. Por otro lado, la exposición segura y efectiva promueve la biosíntesis de vitamina D, brindando beneficios indudables para la salud de los adolescentes.
